The Skinny on Alcoholic Drinks

TGIF! In the spirit of the weekend, I figured I would touch on a subject that some dieters are concerned with...ALCOHOL! Anyone who drinks and wants to diet always struggles with what to drink. For some this is harder than others. I'm a beer lover, so changing that habit was a little more difficult. But luckily for me, I also like wine and vodka. So I recently found my new favorite "skinny" girl cocktail: Raspberry Vodka, Water, Fresh Lime Slice. This drink is so refreshing that you are hydrating while dehydrating, lol. 


Depending on the type of vodka used, depends on the total calories in this drink. My concoction is under 100 calories.


Just don't be fooled while drinking! Simple changes can drastically reduce your caloric intake.

Did you know that tonic water is just as bad as soda? Switch to diet tonic water for a skinny version of this favorite cocktail. Seltzer water is another option that can shave calories -- which also comes in flavors such as strawberry and lime.

The more mixers you, the more calories you'll rack up. So, opting for flavored liquors is an easy solution to reduce the calories consumed.And there are so many flavor options these days, your drink ideas are endless!! There's Brithday Cake, Raspberry, Dragon Fruit, Citrus, Whipped Cream, and so much more!

Another tip if you must opt for a juice, ensure it's 100% fresh juice rather than mixes. But beware, juices are high in sugar which will increase belly fat! 

So keep all of this in mind when you choose your drinks this weekend. And, after every alcoholic beverage be sure to drink a water so you stay hydrated and avoid the nasty hangover :) Enjoy your weekend!
