Snowman Cheese Ball

The holiday season is in full swing and it will be gone before you know it. It's the time all your friends and co-workers are inviting you to Christmas parties or you're having one of your own. This past weekend I had my annual White Elephant Christmas Party. The apparel theme was Christmas colors with a Santa beard, and yes, this did include the ladies wearing a beard :) I love the holidays and I love going all out, entertaining, and ensuing my parties are a success.

After searching Google, Pinterest, Etsy, and so many more sites, I had my game plan for my house decor, beards, and appetizers. I woke up bright and early at 7am that Saturday and began cooking and prepping for the party. One of the tastiest treats I made was the Snowman Cheese Ball. Not only did he look awesome, but he tasted amazing!! So, if you want to WOW your guests or one-up the host of your Christmas party, this snowman recipe is a must try!

Ingredients:
2 packages Fat Free Cream Cheese
1 large clove of Garlic, finely chopped
1/2 cup Reduced Fat Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1 tbsp Basil seasoning

Directions:
Set the cream cheese out to let it soften a bit. After about an hour, empty cream cheese into a mixing bowl. Mix in 1/4 cup of the mozzarella cheese, the finely chopped garlic, and the basil. Once thoroughly mixed, use a little more than half of the mixture to form a ball. Form a ball with the remaining mix. One should be larger than the other. Then, spread the remaining 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese on the counter and roll each ball in it to coat it. Place each ball on a plate snug to each other. I used pretzel sticks for arms and then broke off the tips to push in for buttons and his nose. Then I used green icing for his eyes and green sprinkles for his nose. For his hat, I toasted a piece of toast then cut into circles, one circle larger than the other and fixed atop his head with a toothpick. Just stick him back in the fridge to harden and cool again.

When designing your snowman, use items you have around the house. Other ideas are a carrot for his nose, or M&Ms for his buttons, etc. This is where you can get creative and make him your own! Everyone was asking me what he was made of because it was so tasty. And what's even better is that 2 tbsp is only about 75 calories! So have fun with your food this year and enjoy the holidays! Check out a few pics from my party...some of the guys grew an actual beard and sprayed it white lol such a good time!
