Mr. Olympia 2013 weekend is only 3.5 weeks away!! Now don't be fooled, I'm not competing or anything. But I am trying to drop a little weight and tone up for it. I mean who wouldn't?? This is only THE biggest event in the fitness and nutrition industry. So I want to fit the part of it all.
Now, this might be a little difficult for me as I've been stuck in a rut for the past month or two. I've slowly been putting on a pound here and a pound there. I'm getting pretty frustrated this time with the stubborn weight. Normally I can bounce back and be ok, but this time is different and I'm getting quite discouraged.
I began tracking everything on paper, the old school way because the app was just not something I'd keep up with daily. (Don't ask why writing it down seemed easier) This is when I identified my problem areas... My snacking and the weekends have been my worst enemy!! I haven't been hitting the gym or getting a weekend workout in like I should. Also, my cardio was always the same, the elliptical and treadmill... I need to mix it up! And, I've lost a bit of my self control when it comes to telling myself no to certain foods :(
In the next three to four weeks, I plan to lose at least 5 pounds so I can be Vegas-ready! I've decided to step up my workouts and do a few two-a-days to see if I can jump-start something. I'm such a planner by nature and I'm pretty good about planning my meals so I can eat relatively healthy. But now I'm planning my workouts for the week. This way, when I put it in writing, enter it into my calendar, I am able to mentally block off that hour or two in my schedule and make sure I get my workout in. Wish me luck!!
What do you do when you get stuck in a rut? What works for you and what doesn't? I'd love to hear your tips and tricks!
